The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two convenience store burglaries, according to a news release.
The incidents occurred at Wilco at 5484 Virginia Ave. in Bassett and at Huff’s at 2629 Virginia Ave. in Collinsville between 4:15 and 5:15 a.m. Tuesday.
A “significant amount” of lottery tickets and cigarettes were stolen during the incidents, the release said. An accurate account of what was stolen is pending an inventory, it added.
An individual was observed allegedly redeeming one of the lottery tickets, and a photo of the individual was released. The person was seen leaving the area in a dark-colored four-door vehicle, the release said.
The sheriff’s office is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the person. Anyone with information regarding the identity and whereabouts of this person is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 638-8751 or Crimestoppers at 63-CRIME (632-7463).
The Crimestoppers Program offers rewards up to $1,000 for information related to crime. The nature of the crime and the substance of the information determine the amount of reward paid.
