A woman is being sought in connection with a robbery Wednesday afternoon at Carter Bank & Trust in Ridgeway.
According to a news release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, a woman entered the bank, approached a teller, presented a note and then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled the bank on foot.
The suspect is described in the release as a short, slender, medium-skinned female with a large mole below her bottom lip. She was wearing hospital-type scrubs — dark blue pants, a white top with multicolor designs on it and a gray hoodie.
Items of clothing matching that description were recovered on Horsepasture-Price Road some distance from the bank, the release stated.
A photo from bank security footage was released by the sheriff’s office.
The Martinsville/Henry County 911 center received a call about the incident at 2:44 p.m. Wednesday.
Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to call the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 638-8751 or Crimestoppers at 632-7463.
