UPDATE: Brothers found dead in county
Victims' names released

Two men were found dead miles apart in the Axton area Friday night and early today, according to the Henry County Sheriff's Office.
The victims were identified as Alfonso Navarro-Pena, 40, of 211 Sugar Tree Drive Axton, and his brother, Noel Navarro-Pena, 33, of 211 Sugar Tree Drive Axton, the release stated.
Both men suffered what appeared to be gunshot wounds, the release stated.
According to the release, around 11:13 p.m. Friday the Martinsville/Henry County Emergency 911 Center received a call of a traffic accident that occurred in front of 195 Daniel Road in Axton. Upon arrival at the scene, it was determined the driver of the 1998 Ford F-150, Alfonso Navarro-Pena, had suffered what appeared to be a gunshot wound, the release stated. He was pronounced dead at the scene, it added.
Around 6:14 a.m. Saturday, the 911 Center received a call of an individual lying in the parking lot at 625 Sportsplex Way, Axton, the release stated. The caller reported the individual appeared to be deceased.
Sheriff's deputies arrived on scene and found Noel Navarro-Pena deceased from what appeared to be a gunshot wound, the release stated.
The victims in these incidents were brothers.
Autopsies on both victims are scheduled to be conducted Monday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Western District of Virginia.
A search warrant was executed at 211 Sugar Tree Drive on Saturday in connection with the investigation of these homicides.
Seized was about $28,000 in U.S. Currency, 25 pounds of purported marijuana, 2.6 ounces of purported cocaine, four firearms, ammunition, numerous cellular telephones, two computers and assorted documentation, the release stated.
Sportsplex Way is near the Smith River Sports Complex off Iriswood Road.
The sports complex issued a statement Saturday that the incident took place outside its facility, and that it is cooperating with the sheriff's office on the investigation. The Cardinal Cup Lacrosse Classic is being held at the complex this weekend.
"We want to ensure the public that SRSC is a safe and welcoming facility," stated Billy Russo, SRSC's director of operations. "Our visitors well- being is our primary focus and will continue to be. We are cooperating with the Henry County Sheriff's Office as they further investigate."
