A Hillsville man has been charged with robbery in connection with an incident at Reed's Grocery in Spencer on Aug. 10, according to a release from the Henry County Sheriff's Office.
Brennan Trevor Phillips, 20, of 1154 Deerfield Road, Hillsville, is being held in the Henry County jail without bond, the release stated.
The incident occurred at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 10 when a man entered the store and allegedly demanded that the clerk give him money from the cash register, the release stated. The man allegedly was armed with a can of pepper spray, the release added.
After allegedly taking an undisclosed amount of money, the man left the store and drove away in a vehicle described as a white full size Chevrolet truck, the release added.
