Police seize $738,500 in pot plants

Area law enforcement seized $738,500 worth of marijuana plants along with other items in the Bassett area on Wednesday.
According to a news release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, that office and the Virginia State Police located 211 marijuana plants in a wooded area around the 1900 block of Original Henry Road, Bassett, on Wednesday.
A search warrant was executed at a residence, and located inside were quantities of dried and drying marijuana, a firearm and a lab previously used to manufacture marijuana, the release stated.
The potential monetary yield of the 211 marijuana plants seized is $738,500, the release added.
No charges had been filed, and the investigation is continuing.
