King’s Grant, a continuing care retirement
community in Henry County - Martinsville,
Virginia has an excellent opportunity for a Dining Services Director. The
primary responsibility of the Director is to oversee all aspects of the Dining Services component, to
include catering and
specialty functions.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in food service or related field
preferred. Minimum three to five years’ management experience in the food services industry required. Familiar with regulations, guidelines, practices, and procedures pertaining to a CCRC. Working
knowledge of budgetary process to include
oversight of staffing
patterns. Knowledge of safety, housekeeping
procedures, basic food preparation, menu
planning, and accepted food service techniques, employee relations, food sanitation. Catering
experience, to include plan, coordinate, and
organize catering events. Must possess CDM
certification. Microsoft
Office experience a must. Excellent leadership,
communication,
organization, and time management skills

Seasonal Production Technicians
Ferrum College has several immediate openings for dependable and conscientious Food Court Team Members to assist in the daily operations of our newest Food Court venue by providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, clean-up, stocking, and all functions necessary for successful operation of a food venue.
These are seasonal positions, averaging 19 hours or less per week, with varying work schedules including occasional holidays and weekends; and offering no paid benefits. Food service experience is preferred but will consider training candidates who have strong work ethic and are willing to learn. Applicants must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds frequently. The successful candidates be very reliable and will have good basic math skills, the knowledge and ability to operate a cash register and calculator, and basic computer skills. These positions require excellent customer service and communication skills; honesty, good work ethic, professional attitude and the ability to be a team player.
