“Little” Lewis Giles Jr. wasn’t expected to survive past birth. But today, he’s beating the odds — and he beats the drums pretty well, too.

Lewis Jr., the son of Ieshan and Lewis Giles Sr. of Martinsville, is much like any other 3-year-old. He loves playing outside, going to Clearview Elementary School’s Head Start program and playing on his drum kit.

Sheriff: Woman’s well-being is concern

Kristy Haynes Dillard has been missing since Saturday, and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, according to a Wednesday news release.

“At this point, it appears she may have left of her own accord or free will,” Sheriff Lane Perry said Wednesday evening. “We are concerned of her well-being and would like to find her and speak with her and make sure she is OK.”
