City students show off projects during exhibition

Learning came alive Wednesday night at Martinsville City Public Schools’ Spring Student Exhibition of Learning at Albert Harris and Patrick Henry elementary schools, Martinsville Middle School and Martinsville High School.

There were many displays and demonstrations of student projects.

At Albert Harris Elementary, fourth-graders Alana Brown and Demitri Blackwell were operating a balloon-powered “car” they built out of recycled materials, including plastic container lids, straws, skewers, a plastic tray and a balloon.
