Thankfulness and good will abounded at community dinners on Thanksgiving Day, evident both among people partaking in the meals and preparing them.

“I think it’s nice that they do this,” Betty Cannaday of Martinsville said Thursday after polishing off the last bit of her holiday diner at the second annual Spirit of Thanksgiving Meal held at EMI in Bassett.
