Bassett High School student Bre Ferguson displays an art project she designed in honor of Henry County School Board Clerk Melinda Overby on Thursday. Next week is the Virginia School Boards Association’s “School Board Clerk Appreciation Week,” and the local board honored Overby by presenting her with Ferguson’s project. The student used acrylic paint which she blew with an air compressor to create a rainbow-like design. The variety of colors represents Overby’s friendliness, she said. Holding the artwork in place is the novel “The Great Gatsby,” which Ferguson selected to represent Overby’s importance to the education of students in Henry County Public Schools.
