Gladys Marie Black, 62, of Loris, South Carolina, died on March 9 of medical complications.
She was born April 10, 1950 in Axton, Virginia to Hassell Linwood Wells and Ada Mozell Rakes.
Gladys was a cancer survivor and a mother to everyone. She never got tired of protecting the children in her life. She loved God and her family and the outdoors. Her homemade lemonade is legendary and no one ever went hungry in her house.
Gladys is survived by: children, Michelle Richardson and James Richardson, and son-in-law, Richard Hawks; grandchildren Michael Kidd, Brittiany Richardson, Shawn Richardson, and Candace Hawks; siblings Kathleen Maxey and Barbara Dyson; and dear friend Jim Wilson. She was preceded in death by sisters Martha Bowman and Pat Roop.
The service will be held Friday March 20, 7:00 pm at Lee’s Funeral Home in Little River.
