The graveside service for Madelyne H. Guy, 95, of 105 N. Dunlap Street, Martinsville, who died March 14, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, Virginia, will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday at Carver Memorial Gardens in Martinsville, Virginia. The Rev. Jean Johnson and Pastor Ted Hughey will officiate.
Madelyne H. Guy was born September 8, 1917, in Henry County to Algie and Marinda Hairston. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Salem Hairston; a daughter, Rosalyn K. Armstrong, and a son, Ronald K. Guy.
Surviving are her devoted son and his wife, Algie W. Guy and Miriam Hughey-Guy of Fredericksburg, Virginia, two grandchildren, Keith Armstrong of New Rochelle, NY and Stacey Armstrong of Pittsburg, Pa.; 4 great grandchildren; long time special friends Alberta Wilson of Martinsville and Edna Lee of New Rochelle, NY; a devoted cousin, Carol Wilkerson of Ohio; caretakers, Michelle Hughey and Frances Wright; her "adopted son", Tyrone Penn; her special families, the Hugheys, the Davies of Martinsville, and the Rogers of New York, and a host of family members and friends.
Hairston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
