LONA WITT FOLEY Last Name     

Lona Witt Foley, 76, of 460 Morningside Drive, Bassett, died Thursday March 21, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. She was born in Henry County on May 25, 1936 to the late David A. Witt and Barbara Puckett Witt.

She was the owner and operator of County Line Furniture and Foley’s Used Cars for over fifty years. Lona was a member of North Side Baptist Church and the Patrick-Henry Fire Department where she was the past treasurer of twenty years and treasurer of the ladies auxiliary. She was also a member of the Virginia Independent Dealers Association.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Foster and two brothers, Lloyd “L.D.” Witt and Chester Witt.

Surviving are her husband of sixty one years, James “Harold” Foley of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Lona Debbie Davidson and husband Darren of Bassett and Donna Gail Foley and husband Jay of Stuart, one son, Harold Danny Foley, Sr., of Patrick Springs, one sister, Eunice Harbour of Bassett and seven grandchildren, Jimmy Foley, Christopher Thompkins, Jessica Davidson, Barbara Davidson, Amanda Foley, Adam Foley and Danny Foley, Jr., and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 25, 2013 in the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Peal officiating, internment will be in the Foley-Witt Family Cemetery in Bassett.

The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Sunday March 24, 2013 in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home and other times at the home.
