Linda MacQueen Hill, 73, of 1091 Brentwood Drive, Collinsville, VA died Monday, March 25, 2013 at her home. She was born on April 2, 1939 in Ronceverte, West Virginia to the late, David Spurgeon MacQueen and Dorothy Ellison MacQueen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hill.
Mrs. Hill was selected to appear in the 1968 Edition of Outstanding Young Women of America and was a member of the Exemplar Xi Beta Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a former business owner, a member of the Piedmont Arts Association and an award winning retired artist, mother, sister and friend to all she met.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, John David Richardson and wife, Lyn of Collinsville, VA, Robert Michael Richardson and wife, Lisa of Yorktown, VA, Alan MacQueen Richardson and fiancée, Connie Denny of Martinsville, VA and Larry Hill and wife, Jennifer of Florence, SC; sisters, Jane MacQueen of Roanoke, VA and Alice Pinckney and husband, “Pinkie” of the Villages, Florida; grandchildren, Trey Jordan, Jeremy Richardson of Yorktown, VA and Emily Hill of Florence, SC and Justin Coon of Bristol, England; great-grandchild, Zoe Hill of Florence, SC and numerous nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, March 29, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Norris Funeral Services Martinsville Chapel.
The funeral will be private.
