On Thursday, April 4, 2013, Ralph “Dink” Eugene Mason departed this earth to spend eternity with his Heavenly Father. He was born in Martinsville, VA on May 8, 1938 to the late Perry Cliffon Mason and Myrtle Chaney Mason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Mosco; sister, Peggy Gilley and brother, Robert C. Mason.

Mr. Mason served in the USAF from 1955 to 1959. After serving in the USAF, he was employed with the Department of Defense as a welder and retired in 2000. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, 2230 Sandy River Road, Axton, VA.

He leaves behind his lovely wife, Shirley A. Mason of the home; one son, Roland G. Mason and wife, Kathleen of Sanville, VA; one step-son, Michael Davis and wife, Linda of Rocky Mount, VA; sisters, Maxine Hayes of Martinsville, VA and Donna Peters of Chattanooga, TN; brothers, Charlie Mason and wife, Ruby of Martinsville, VA, Billy Mason and wife, Sue of Leitchfield, KY and Alan Mason and wife, Nancy of Roanoke, VA; grandsons, Hunter G. Mason of Sanville, VA and Arlo Mosco and Drew Mosco both of Oklahoma and three great-grandsons.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Central Baptist Church with Pastor, Corky Haak officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Norris Funeral Services Martinsville Chapel and other times at the home of his sister, Maxine Hayes, 1113 Rives Road, Martinsville, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church Ranch, 1019 Rufus Road, Axton, VA 24054.
