Jesse Carlton Wagoner, 76, of Collinsville died Thursday, April 4 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was born in Franklin County on Jan. 8, 1937, the son of Archie M. Wagoner and Bertha Trail Wagoner. Prior to his retirement in 2000, he was the owner of Wagoner Septic Tanks. He was a member of the Crossroads Ruritan Club and Martinsville Chapter M Goldwing Road Riders Association. He attended Valley Drive Baptist Church in Fieldale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Silas Lee Wagoner.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Betty Wagoner; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Richard Hodges of Glade Hill, and Kimberly Ann Wagoner and Charles Boothe Jr. of Rocky Mount; one granddaughter, Brittany Lee Hodges and fiancé, Jason Neice of Ferrum; sister, Betty Lou Johnson of Oak Level; and nieces, Claire, Cindy, Cheryl, Tammy and Paula.
The funeral will be conducted today (Sunday, April 7) at 2 p.m. from Bassett Funeral Chapel by Rev. Bobby Rakes and Rev. Hubert Inman. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
