RHYLAND B. ROHER Last Name     

Rhyland B. Roher, 90 of 71 Greenway Road, Martinsville, Virginia departed this life Wednesday afternoon (04-10-13) at the V. A. Medical Center, Salem, Virginia.

Born July 6, 1922 in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late Hobert M. Roher and Luecinnie Davis Roher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Roher; four brothers, Silas Maxie, Hobert Colgen, Thomas and Stanford Roher and two sisters, Arlean Fuller and Shirley Inge Tarpley.

He was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp, serving in WWII. He was a member of the Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a former trustee.

Mr. Roher is survived by three daughters, Linda B. Boyd (Charlie), Luecinnie R. Redd (Kent) and Marilyn R. Hodge (Elvis), all of Martinsville, Virginia; three sisters, Bernice Walker (Elmer) of Martinsville, Virginia, Vernell Hodnett of Chatham, Virginia and Martha “Rene” Fuller (Rev. Thomas Fuller) of Axton, Virginia; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a special friend, Lois Price of Danville, Virginia and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday (04-13-13) at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Whitfield, officiating and Rev. Isaac Monroe as eulogist. Interment will follow in the Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral.

The family is at the residence of a daughter and son-in-law, Kent and Luecinnie Redd, 1028 Dogwood Drive, Martinsville, Virginia.

Miller Funeral Home, Gretna is in charge of the arrangements.
