Lorene Wilson, 68, of Axton, passed peacefully from this life the morning of April 20th after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends during the last days of her life.
Lorene was born in Axton, Virginia on August 20, 1944 to the late Clem and Hassie Wilson. Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Powell. She graduated from Southside High School in 1965. She was also employed by American furniture Company for 28 years. Lorene was also employed by Burger King for a short time before becoming disabled.
Early in life she accepted the Lord as her savior and joined Sharon Grove Baptist Church.
Lorene is survived by one sister, Annie Price; a godson, Marcus Shuff; four nieces of Martinsville, VA, Hassie Fitzgerald, Brenda Martin (Fredrick), Patricia Price, Mary Craig (Namon) and two nieces of New Jersey, Carlernes Fleming and Sandra Price; two nephews of Martinsville, William Price (Patricia), Ronnie Price; a special friend, Kenneth Rogers, two close friends, Ida Redd and Linda Witcher, and a host of great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm in the afternoon to 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, Aril 25, 2013 at Mountain Valley Baptist Church where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon with Dr. Michael Penn and Pastor Willie Covington officiating.
