Myrtle Beach, SC – Sylvia Faye Stadler, 75, formerly of Martinsville, Virginia, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed into eternal life Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
She was born on November 26, 1937 in Martinsville, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father, H.L. “Jack” Finney and mother, Sadie Elizabeth Holley Finney.
Sylvia was a member of Broad Street Christian Church in Martinsville, Virginia. She was a former Licensed Practical Nurse and served as Vice President and Co-Owner of Contract Furnishings Limited as an Interior Designer, until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, painting and fishing.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Alan Page Stadler of Briarcliffe Acres; three children, Alan Page “Rusty” Stadler, Jr. and his wife, Cynthia of Midlothian, VA, Elizabeth “Bunnie” Gore of Little River, SC and Dr. H. Scott Stadler and his wife, Diane of Portland, Oregon; a brother, Dr. H. Ray Finney and his wife, Sammye of Augusta, GA.
She was affectionately known as Gaga Sylvia by her seven grandchildren, William Alan Stadler, Austin Page Stadler both of Midlothian, Virginia, Lewis E. “Trey” Gore, III of Charleston, SC, Alan Page Gore of Little River, SC, Christopher Scott Stadler, Emily Page Stadler and Jonathan Michael Stadler all of Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by her beloved Westie, Mulligan.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach, SC with Pastor John Gambrell officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Southern Palms Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends at McMillan-Small Funeral Home on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
