Constance Ida Hilton Carr, 86, of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 16, 2013. She was the widow of Lawrence Ross Carr. Born October 29, 1926, in Roanoke, she was a daughter of the late, Ida Stallings Hilton and Elbert Daniel (Pete) Hilton of Salem.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Susan Carr Jones and husband, Eric of Collinsville; her granddaughter, Meagan DeLong and husband, Mark with great granddaughters, Karis, Karlie and Abbi all of Roanoke; her grandson, Zachary Jones and wife, Terra with great grandsons, Keaton, Benjamin and Caedmon; her son, Jim Carr and wife, Cheryl of Florence, SC with grandsons, Ross Carr and wife, Amy of Florence, SC and Clay Carr of Charlotte, NC; her sister, Judy Grubb and husband, Dr. Walter Grubb of Charlotte, NC; and niece and nephews, Lee Grubb and wife, Kelly with their children, Olivia and Abigail, Steve Grubb, Ann Holland, Bruce Gillespie and David Gillespie.
Connie attended Jefferson High School and Virginia Intermont College. She was the beloved homemaker for her family. Mrs. Carr was a member of Grandin Court Baptist Church.
The family is so thankful for all faithful caregivers and most recently the staff at Good Home Health Care and Gentle Shepherd Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Grandin Court Baptist Church. The Rev. Charlie Krause will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at 1 PM on Saturday at the church.
