Susan “Susie” Smith Haynes, 64, of 584 Dogwood Dr., Martinsville, VA died Friday, February 1, 2013 at her home.
Born January 28, 1949 in Martinsville, Susan was a daughter of Alene Johnson Smith and the late Dewey S. “Buck” Smith.
Susan was a member of Wilson Street Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to her mother, Alene Smith of Collinsville, Susan is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Haynes Lam and husband Donnie R. Lam, Jr. of Stanley,VA; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie Ladd and husband Doug Ladd of Forest, VA, Regina Smith of Kernersville, NC and Heather McClure and husband Paul McClure of Charlotte, NC; grandson, Austin Lam of Stanley, VA and two nephews, Tyler and Luke both of Charlottesville, VA.
The funeral will be conducted from the Martinsville Chapel of Norris Funeral Services and Crematory, Monday, February 4, 2013 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Travis Cassell officiating. Interment will be in the Smith Family Cemetery in Rockingham County, NC.
The family will receive friends at the Martinsville Chapel of Norris Funeral Services, Sunday afternoon, February 3, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
