Lois Easley Thompson age 89 of Martinsville died Tuesday February 26, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was a resident of Golden Living Center. She was born March 4, 1923 in Pittsylvania County to the late Roy Cabell and Carrie Patton Law Easley. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bascomb Balfour “BB” Thompson in 1999, three brothers, Neal, Max, and Leon Easley, and two sisters, Hilda McCubbins and Janie Burch.
She was a graduate of Callands High School, a former member of United Commercial Travelers, a member of Chatham Heights United Methodist Church, and a devoted homemaker.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her daughter Patsy Thompson Cheek and Kelly McDowell Clingenpeel of Wirtz, two sons, Bascomb Balfour “BB” Thompson, Jr. and wife Betty Crawford Thompson of Axton, and Ronald Glenn “Ronnie” Thompson and wife Connie Ling Thompson of Penhook, one granddaughter, Wendy Thompson Carter of Asheboro, NC, and one great grandson, Catlin Dean Carter of Asheville, NC.
There will be a private graveside service, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
