Carlton Eugene Keesee, 78, of Danville, VA died Sunday, March 3, 2013 after a decline in health for the past 2 years.
Born March 20,1934, he was the son of the late William and Gillie Keesee.
Mr. Keesee was a Charter Member of Lighthouse Bible Church where he served on the Deacon Board.
He was a retired machinist from Fisher Auto Parts, formerly Motor Parts.
On August 7, 1956, he married the love of his life, the late Dollie Jones Keesee.
Mr. Keesee is survived by two sons, Keith K. Keesee (Ann) of Chatham, VA, Timothy D. Keesee (Debbie) of Taylors, SC, three daughters, Robin K. Emerson (Clarence) of Dry Fork, VA, Melody K. Moss (of the residence), Anita K. Goodman (Ryan) of Taylors, SC, one brother Morris Keesee of Martinsville, VA and two sisters Lois Adkins of Chatham, VA, Iris Bates of Axton, VA.
Thirteen grandchildren, Jason Keesee (Beth Ann), Ben Keesee (Beth), Adam Keesee (Jessica), Sarah Keesee (Adam), Tim Keesee (Ali), Amanda Smotherman (Will), Nicholas Emerson (Chasity), Dannielle Emerson, Josh Vernon, Jon Vernon (Savannah), Tyler Ross, Elaina and Zachary Goodman, and eleven great-grandchildren, Kinley Keesee, Aaron and Aubrie Keesee, Alexandra and Olivia Smotherman, Nicole, Cody and Harley Anne Emerson, Landon Vernon, Logan Standley, Madison Vernon.
The funeral will be held at 2 pm Friday, March 8, 2013, at Lighthouse Bible Church, 133 Woodberry Drive, Danville, VA with the Rev. W L Wade officiating. Interment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:30 at Swicegood Funeral Home, 564 West Main St, Danville, VA and at other times the family will be at the residence.
