Ingredients:
  • 4 cups self-rising flour
  • 1â�„4 cup shortening
  • 11â�„2 cups buttermilk
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Put the flour into a large mixing bowl. Using your hands, blend in the shortening until mixed. Add the buttermilk and mix to form a dough. Add some extra flour to the surface of the dough and pull off pieces; form into balls and pat down into biscuits. Place on a baking sheet and bake 30 minutes.
