PEANUT BUTTER, BANANA AND BACON SANDWICHES

2 large ripe bananas
1 cup smooth peanut butter
6 slices white bread
9-10 slices cooked crisp bacon
1â�„2 cup butter
Peel and mash bananas. Combine bananas with peanut butter and mix well. Toast the bread and spread 1â�„3 of the banana mixture on each of three slices; top with 2 or 3 slices bacon and another slice of bread.
Melt the butter in a large skillet and slowly brown the sandwiches on both sides until golden brown. Serve while warm.
If preferred, the banana may be sliced and laid over a layer of peanut butter instead of mashed into it.
