  • 3 cans French cut green beans
  • 1 onion
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked (reserve drippings)
  • 6 TBS vinegar
  • 6 TBS sugar
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Drain the green beans and place in a baking dish. Slice the onion into rings and place on top of the beans. Heat the bacon drippings, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper, but do not boil. Pour the mixture over the beans, cover and marinate for three hours.
Pour off some of the marinade, if desired, sprinkle with crumbled bacon and almonds. Bake for 30 minutes.
