COLD-OVEN POUND CAKE
Desserts

Ingredients:
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1â�„2 cup shortening
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1â�„2 tsp. salt
  • 1â�„4 tsp. baking powder
  • 5 eggs
  • 31â�„2 cups cake flour
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 TBS lemon flavoring
  • 1 TBS vanilla flavoring
Have all ingredients at room temperature.
Cream together margarine, shortening, sugar, salt and baking powder. Add eggs one at a time, and beat well after each addition. Add flour, milk and flavorings.
Grease and flour a tube pan. Place cake in cold oven, set temperature to 300 degrees and bake for two hours. Do not open oven door during baking.
