  • for first layer:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1â�„2 cup butter
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1â�„2 tsp. salt
  • 1 16-oz. can chocolate syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • for frosting:
  • 2 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • 1â�„2 cup soft butter
  • 2 TBS creme de menthe (or vanilla or other flavoring)
  • for top layer:
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 6 TBS butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, flour, salt, chocolate syrup and vanilla. Beat well. Pour into greased 9- by 13-inch baking pan. Bake 30 minutes.
Make frosting by mixing confectioner’s sugar, butter and creme de menthe. Spread over cooled cake. Chill.
Melt chocolate chips and butter. Spread over brownies. Chill. Cut into small squares before serving.
