Raw-foods Thick Marinara Sauce
Contributed by: Lisa Smith
  • 11â„2 cups sun-dried tomatoes, soaked 2 hours or until soft
  • 4 large tomatoes, seeds removed and cut in chunks
  • 2 large cloves garlic
  • 1â„4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1â„2 tsp. dried oregano
  • 2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 2 TBS extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 TBS maple syrup
  • 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp. liquid aminos
  • 4 TBS water
Place the soaked sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, maple syrup, lemon juice and water in a food processor. Process until fairly smooth. Add tomatoes and seasonings and process just until well blended but still chunky. If too thick, add a little more water. Adjust the seasonings to your liking.
Allow to set for two hours before serving.
