  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, sifted, or
  • 1â�„2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 TBS water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg, optional, or
  • 1â�„8 tsp. Fiori Di Scilla
Cream butter well. Add white and brown sugar slowly and cream well. Beat in eggs and add water and vanilla. Mix and sift the dry ingredients into the creamed butter and sugar. Chill dough 30 minutes before rolling out. Roll on floured cloth, about 1�8-inch thick, and cut into shapes.
