EASY CARAMEL ICING

1 cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
1â�„2 cup milk
31â�„2 to 4 cups sifted 4X confectioners sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
Melt butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar and boil over low heat for two minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in milk, stirring until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm.
Gradually add confectioners sugar. Beat until you reach a good spreading consistency. Add vanilla. If the frosting is too stiff, add a little hot water to soften.
