  • 4 large portabella mushrooms
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1â�„4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 TBS olive oil
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 2 to 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 TBS Chicago Steak Seasoning
  • 4 whole wheat rolls
Cut stems off mushrooms and place smooth side up in a shallow dish. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.
Prepare marinade by whisking together the vinegar, oil, basil, oregano, garlic and steak seasoning. Pour over mushrooms and allow to stand at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes, turning once or twice.
Preheat grill pan or outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Place mushrooms on hot grill, saving marinade for basting. Grill mushrooms 5 to 8 minutes on each side, basting frequently with marinade.
Serve on whole wheat buns with your favorite condiments.
