Venison Teriyaki
Contributed by: Ross Martin
  • 4 lbs. venison
  • 3 TBS cooking oil
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cups grated onion
  • 4 TBS sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tsp. ground ginger
Cut venison into bite-sized pieces. Pour cooking oil into a Dutch oven. Put venison in the cooking oil and let it just brown on the outside, stirring, for a couple of minutes. Remove meat and put into a different container and pour soy sauce over it. Let sit to marinate for 30 minutes. Return to Dutch oven and stir together the onions, sugar, garlic and ginger and cover. Place the Dutch oven over hot embers and place hot embers on its cover. Let cook until the meat is done, about 45 minutes.
