  • 8 cups sifted Hudson Cream self-rising flour
  • 1?2 cup solid shortening
  • 2 cups milk
Preheat oven to 485 degrees.
Put the flour on a piece of wax paper. Make a hole in the middle of the flour and drop shortening into hole. Knead with your fingers.
Mix in milk. Roll around with your hands until it will roll into a large ball and is no longer sticky. Press the dough flat to 1?2 inch thick and cut out biscuits.
Place the biscuits on a pan. With 2 fingers, put a dab of vegetable oil on top of each biscuit.
Bake until biscuits are brown on top.
