  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 TBS cocoa
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 TBS butter
  • 1 TBS white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (optional)
Mix sugar, cocoa and milk. Cook slowly.
When mixture starts to boil, add butter. Cook until a soft ball forms in cold water.
Add vinegar. Remove from stove. Add vanilla and walnuts.
Beat until mixture begins to thicken.
Pour into buttered dish and let cool before cutting into squares.
