  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 TSP flour
  • 2 cups milk, approximately
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Vanilla wafers
  • Ripe bananas
Blend sugar and flour and put into a saucepan. Put 1 cup milk into a two cup measuring cup then add egg yolks and mix well. Top off measuring cup to 2 cups with milk.
Add to sugar and flour mixture and cook over medium heat until it thickens, stirring constantly to keep from sticking. After it starts thickening, add vanilla.
Place layer of vanilla wafers, sliced bananas and half of the custard into a baking dish then repeat using the rest of the custard.
Top with meringue and bake until meringue is brown.
