Easy and Cheap Peach Cobbler

  • 1 large can peaches in syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 stick butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large saucepan, bring peaches, cinnamon, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar to a boil. Stir in vanilla.
Mix together flour, 1/2 cup sugar and milk.
Melt butter in a deep baking dish. Pour flour mixture over it evenly. Pour fruit mixture on top of flour mixture. Bake for 25 minutes or until the topping is brown.
Other fruits may be substituted for peaches. This dish is good topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
