CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE

Ingredients:
  • 1 box Duncan Hines devil’s food cake mix
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 TBS vanilla
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • Icing
  • 4 TBS butter
  • 2 TBS milk
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1 tsp. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
For the cake:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour tube pan.
Mix cake mix, sugar, water, oil, vanilla and sour cream.
Beat all four eggs in a bowl and pour over mixture. Mix with cake mixer on medium high speed.
Pour into tube pan and bake for 45 minutes or until done.
For the icing:
In a sauce pan, melt butter, then add milk. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
Sift together confectioner’s sugar and cocoa. Blend into butter and add vanilla. If too stiff, add more milk.
Spread over cooled cake.
