3 cups self-rising flour
1 TBS shortening
2/3 cup buttermilk (preferred) or sweet milk
Mix flour and shortening together. Add milk and mix until a loose ball of dough forms. This can be done using a spatula.
Dust countertop or cooking space and knead dough about seven times. Roll out to approximately 1?2-inch thick, and cut into biscuits.
Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet. Place in a cool oven, and set temperature to 450 degrees. Bake for approximately 15 minutes.
Yield: 15 biscuits
