Granny's peanut butter balls

2 sticks butter
1/2 lb. gluten-free graham cracker crumbs or animal crackers crumbs
1 cup chopped pecans or other nuts
1 cup peanut butter
1 (1 pound) box confectioner’s sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cake paraffin wax, melted
1 10-ounce package dark chocolate bits
Melt butter in sauce pan. Add crumbs, nuts, peanut butter, sugar and vanilla to butter. Mix well. Form into 1-inch round balls.
Melt wax in a large metal bowl resting over a saucepan with boiling water. Stir in chocolate bits and mix well. Use a toothpick or candy ball dipper to dip balls in chocolate one at a time and cover well. Put on wax paper and cool.
Yield: 50 or 60
