Peanut Butter Cornflake Turkeys
Contributed by: Meritha Rucker
  • For the cookies:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 18 ounce jar crunchy peanut butter
  • 5 cups Corn Flakes
  • For the decorations:
  • 1 package of white or cream cheese icing
  • 1 bag of candy corn
  • 1 package of whoppers
  • 1 container of chocolate sprinkles
  • 1 small pack of Reese Pieces (only orange candies will be used)
For the cookies:
Mix sugar and syrup and allow to come to slow boil. Then remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and mix until smooth. Pour in corn flakes. Form into balls on wax paper.
For the decorations:
Place a small amount of cookie icing to the ends of the candy corn and stick them into the backside of the cornflake balls to create the turkey feathers. Add a whopper to the front side of the cornflake ball to create the turkey’s head. The whopper should stick to the warm cornflake balls but adding a small amount of the icing will help them stay on.
On the whopper add two dabs of icing for the eyes. Press two small chocolate sprinkles into the eye icing to form the pupil.
Cut the orange Reese Pieces into triangular shapes for the peak. Apply to the whopper with a little bit of cookie icing. Place the finished turkeys in the refrigerator to ensure all turkey parts stay on.
