Contributed by:
  • 1 or 2 small beef roasts
  • generous amount olive oil
  • 2 TBS garlic powder
  • 2 TBS pepper
  • 2 TBS applewood rub
  • 2 TBS onion powder
  • 2 TBS paprika
  • 1 can beef gravy
  • 1?2 cup water
Rub the roast with olive oil. Loosely mix spices together. Coat the roast with the spice mixture evenly. Place in bowl and cover, and refrigerate for 24 hours.
The next day, sear in a cast iron pan which has been heated in an oven at 400 degrees, making sure pan is hot before placing the meat in it. Brown meat and pour gravy and water over it. Reduce heat to 200 for about 3 hours, until meat is tender.
