Meat loaf

Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 sweet onion
  • 3/4 cup Italian style bread crumbs
  • 1/2 TBS garlic powder
  • 1/2 TBS parsley
  • 1/2 TBS basil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups ketchup, divided
  • 2 TBS Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 or 2 TBS brown sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Reserve one cup of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar for the sauce.
Combine all other ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix together with spoon or hands. Form two loaves (one can be frozen for later).
Put loaf in a 9- by 13-inch baking pan and bake for 45 minutes.
Mix ketchup, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauces and pour 3?4 cup of it over meat loaf. Return loaf to oven for an additional 15 minutes.
