Vegetables & Side Dishes
Contributed by:
  • 1 can green beans
  • 1 to 2 TBS bacon grease or margarine
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/2 to 1 TBS sugar
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped (optional)
  • 1 onion, chopped (optional)
Drain green beans and rinse. Put into a pot with a can full of fresh water. Add grease or margarine, salt, sugar and, if using, chopped vegetables. Let cook for 20 minutes on medium or until onion and celery are tender.
