Fried Apple Pies
Contributed by: Carolyn Cecil
  • 1 can Texas-style biscuits
  • Apple butter
  • 1 stick butter
  • Self-rising flour
Let butter melt in electric skillet on low heat while you prepare the following. Sprinkle flour on paper and open can of biscuits. Flour both sides of biscuit. Take rolling pin and flatten biscuit. Put 1 tsp. apple butter onto the middle of each biscuit (if more is put on, the biscuit will pop open and the apple butter will burn). Fold each biscuit over and press edges with fork to close (dip fork in flour to keep biscuits from sticking to fork).
Fry in electric skillet at 250 degrees to 300 degrees, depending on skillet, until brown on both sides.
