Rummage Relish

Ingredients:
  • 4 cups cabbage
  • 4 cups onion
  • 4 cups green pepper
  • 4 cups green tomatoes
  • 4 cups cucumbers
  • 1⁄2 cup salt
  • 1 TBS celery seed
  • 2 TBS mustard seed
  • 11⁄2 tsp. turmeric
  • 4 cups vinegar
  • 5 cups sugar
Grind all vegetables. Add salt and set aside for two hours. Rinse. Add spices, vinegar and sugar. Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Pack relish into hot jars and lids. Boil jars (water should circulate around and above jars) for 5 minutes.
