Butterscotch Brownies

  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1â�„2 to 1 cup nuts (such as a 2.25 oz. bag pecan chips)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Melt butter in microwave. Stir in brown sugar. Cool.
Add eggs, vanilla and flour with baking powder and salt to butter mixture. Add nuts.
Bake in 8 x 12 pan at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.
Optional: sprinkle chocolate chips over brownies when they come out of the oven. Once the heat melts the chips, spread the chocolate evenly.
This is quick and easy and requires only one pan to wash. Good served with vanilla ice cream on top and with hot tea or coffee.
