Pecan Crispies

  • 1 stick butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
Beat butter and shortening at medium speed until creamy; gradually add brown sugar, beating until fluffy. Add eggs, beating until blended. Add flour, soda, and salt, beating until blended. Stir in pecans.
Drop dough by level tablespoon 2 inches apart onto lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool slightly on baking sheets; remove to wire racks to cool. Make 3 dozen.
