  • 11â�„4 cups oil
  • 21â�„2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1â�„2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1â�„2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 cups peeled, chopped Winesap apples
  • 11â�„4 cups chopped nuts
Blend oil and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Add vanilla.
Sift together flour, salt, soda, cinnamon and nutmeg and add to mixture. Add apples and nuts.
Bake in a well greased and floured 10-inch tube pan at 325 degrees for about 1 hour and 45 minutes, but check cake after 1 hour 30 minutes.
