Pound Cake

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 11â�„2 cup shortening
  • 6 eggs at room temperature
  • 3 cups of plain flour
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1â�„2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 TBS vanilla flavoring
  • 1 TBS lemon flavoring
Mix sugar and shortening until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Add flour, baking powder and milk and flavorings, pour in a little at a time. Beat well until smooth.
Pour into a greased and floured Bundt pan, and bake 1 hour and 20 minutes at 325 degrees.
